BRIEF HISTORY of MIKE BALL’s EXEMPLARY SCUBA DIVING CAREER in QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA --
1969 – Mike founded the “Dive School” in Townsville. It was the first Australian scuba diving instruction center to use cylinder pressure gauges & BCDs.
1975 -- Opened his first dive shop – Mike Ball Watersports.
1980 -- Mike Ball invented the “Stinger Suit”, which later became known as the widely used “dive skin.”
1981 -- Acquired MV Watersport, the world’s first custom-built twin hull diving live-aboard.
1981 -- Built Australia’s most advanced hi-tech dive training facility, with a super-deep pool, state-of-the-art reg’s, BCs & technical gear & the most savvy scuba instructors in Queensland.
