From early 2013 through summer 2014, DUNBAR VILLA owners poured creative fire & architectural genius into a TLC upgrade, transforming a $1.7 million home into a $10 million dream mansion, perched on Dunbar Rock in Sandy Bay, just off the southern shores of Guanaja Island. You'll enjoy 4-star service + amazing reefs at prices lower than even Cozumel or the Caymans. Click on our hot new YouTube video above – most of which was shot from a low-flying helicopter -- for a tour of delightful rooms, reefs, boats & vistas. After the DUNBAR VILLA video, check our new GUANAJA DIVING photos below.

Another soul-stirring view of the VILLA at DUNBAR ROCK as it sits serenely in the heart of Sandy Bay on l'il Guanaja Island in the Bay Islands of Honduras. DUNBAR VILLA has been featured prominently by respected travel publications, ie. Frommer's Budget Travel & Gayot.com, also Trip Advisor & Undercurrent. This villa is unique in the Caribbean, a refreshing escape from commotion, crowds & cruise ships. Check the new heli-pad, next pic.

DUNBAR VILLA offers the most magnificent views + gracious service + carefree diving,
sunrise to sunset, on GUANAJA ISLAND. This is the Bay Islands' last unspoiled jewel. At the bottom of this photo, a cool new infinity pool was finished to a luster in summer 2014. Dunbar Villa's new expansion project doubles its floor & veranda space to nearly 15,000 square feet. Also new is a cardio gym, a comfy outdoor bar beside the pool & a 2nd dockside dive shop on the North side of Dunbar Rock. Our new Master Chef Johnny Alonzo was the personal chef for Gloria Estefan & Dan Marino, for years.

Denis Midence (yes only one "n" !) is the highly respected manager & diving guide of DUNBAR VILLA. A scuba diving whiz in his young 40s, Denis has a couple thousand dive tanks logged on Guanaja. What's more, he has gladdened the hearts of nearly that many clients since the late 1990s, when he started at Dunbar. All who meet Denis grow to love him like a son, a brother, a friend for life. You should see the letters we get, month-after-month from delighted vacation guests about this wonderful gent!

Reminiscent of a luxury mansion on the Greek Mediterranean, the Villa at Dunbar Rock is an exotic vacation destination on Guanaja Island -- about 45 miles off the North Coast of Honduras in the Bay Islands. Represented by U.S. Dive Travel Network, Dunbar Villa was designed & built by a Texas real estate developer -- who loves to dive -- for folks who relish scuba diving & snorkeling vacations, or off-the-beaten-path Caribbean getaways.
Service at Dunbar Villa is prompt, courteous & always friendly. For years now, the staff motto has been "Arrive as a Guest, Leave as a Friend."
The two prime miracles of Dunbar Villa are these: (1) In the 20+ years we have helped hundreds of clients visit Guanaja, this lovely island never got scarred by heavy tourism or crass commercialism. No cruise ships, no Spring Break hordes. Just clean air & water & brilliant reefs teeming with life. (2) Villa owners have rolled rates back to 4 years ago, where prices were during the Recession -- well below that of most luxury Cozumel, Cayman or Bahamas resorts. Yet the quality of service & luxury amenities are still a solid 4 stars.
Dunbar Villa was first built in 1998 & recently renovated to more than double its previous floor space & luxury index. Valued at nearly USD $10 million, this mansion is solidly anchored onto a huge flat-topped rock, nestled in tranquil Sandy Bay on Guanaja's protected southern shore.
Dunbar Villa is about 300 meters from the beach, perched over gentle clear ocean waters that abound with healthy multi-colored fish, corals & sponges. Now expanded to a 4-story 15,000-square-foot lodge, Dunbar Villa offers 8 clean ocean-view guest rooms with spacious balconies, large tile showers & personally-controlled A/C. The Villa also features a comfy living room with widescreen TV + an excellent sound system. Wi-fi is available nearly 24/7 & the cooks are wonderful. They will meet your heart's desire...
This property is perfect for small groups seeking a pristine escape from tourist traps. Our delighted clients over the years have included teachers, nurses, military men & women, firefighters, prep school groups on marine biology studies, missions teams from medical centers or churches across the USA, plus business execs & scores of fun-loving couples & families from all walks of life. Children under thoughtful adult supervision are always warmly welcome in the Villa at Dunbar Rock.
Cool news: Dunbar Villa owners have built two special access ramps from the boat dock to the 2nd floor, to allow disabled folks & also slower-moving seniors to take a golf cart up Dunbar Rock -- quick as a wink!
A luxurious infinity pool is located right below the south wall of the dining room, giving guests a sweeping territorial view of the Guanaja Fringing Reef. Also new is a huge waterfront dive shop at the dock level, plus a gym space, a conference room & a helicopter pad atop the building for easy VIP access.
