KONA AGGRESSOR, HAWAII: General Info

U.S. Dive Travel, a worldwide purveyor of the finest live-aboards extant, is proud to present the Kona Aggressor II, a fast, uncrowded power-cat carries only 10 passengers, so you never have to worry about divers piling up at the ladders, nor crowding you below at the dive sites. No cattle boat dive trips here, amigos. You'll visit such time-tested Kona classics as Kauna Black Coral Forest, Manta Ray Village, Auau Crater, Okoe Bay, Red Hill, Milolii Dropoff, Tubastrea Tunnel, Pohue Bay, Manuka Bay & the wild underwater delights of Ladder's off South Point, southernmost place in the U.S. No other Hawaii diving live-aboard offers the same action-intensive itinerary as the Kona Aggressor. Basically, if you have a serious yen for live-aboards + Hawaii diving + the Big Island, then that all adds up to one dive vessel nowadays -- the Kona Aggressor.

Some of the best Big Island fun awaits you inside & around the ancient lava tubes, where intriguing coral bommies & furtive fish are hiding. Some of the walls you'll dive from the Kona Aggressor have several hundred species of fish swarming around you at once. If Lady Luck kisses your face mask any given day, in the right season, you might get to see dolphins, sharks, whales or porpoises. These are the undersea critter treats that typify the best of Hawaii diving, & the reason folks seem to love the Kona Aggressor, season after season. There always are plenty of fine sea turtles & morays to enjoy, all around the Big Island.

Here's a thumbnail summary of the Aggressor Fleet's 10 vessels. All these live-aboard packages, the Hawaii diving tour on Kona Aggressor included, offer 3 fine & filling meals per day + all the diving your heart desires for at least 5.5 days on a 7-night cruise (free tanks & weights included) + clean, spacious cabins + roomy salons & sundecks. OVERVIEW of KONA AGGRESSOR SPECS & AMENITIES:
The Kona Aggressor II is an 80-foot, 14-passenger catamaran built & powered for comfort, safety & stability. She is diesel-powered, cruises at 18 knots & has 110-volt power on board. The Kona Aggressor II has a wide 28-foot beam.

Five luxurious, air-conditioned deluxe staterooms are located on the main level off the salon. Then there's a 4-bunk 4-person quad as well. Each carpeted deluxe stateroom features a double-sized bed with single berth above, a vanity with lavatory, a large window, individual climate control & private head & shower. Some cabins have wider doors to accommodate wheelchairs. All staterooms open onto the large salon, which includes the dining area & galley. The air-conditioned salon is attractively furnished & designed for comfort & relaxation. The salon's comfortable seating arrangement & presentation equipment make it a great room for lectures & meetings.

Exiting the salon & traveling toward the stern of the Kona Aggressor II, guests enter the large dive deck. This is the area where divers suit up & prepare their gear. Each diver has his own personal dive station complete with seat & locker. All tanks are filled in place with either air or nitrox. There are several dozen 80-cubic-foot cylinders on board. After donning their gear, divers take a few steps down the ladders to the dive platforms, which are only a few inches from the water. Entries are made easily with a giant stride & exiting is simple with the aid of two ladders that extend underwater. Two freshwater rinse showers & fin racks are conveniently located on the dive platforms. A dive briefing area, camera table with low-pressure air hoses, camera rinse tank, head & water fountain are all part of the roomy dive deck.

A few steps up from the dive deck is everyone's favorite spot, the sun deck. This partially shaded deck offers guests a large sunning area complete with deck chairs, chaise lounges, a shaded wet bar with soda dispenser & a soothing hot tub. Bar side stools & tables are available for top side dining & gatherings. The cook will tempt you with mouth-watering dishes grilled on the gas grill located in the aft section of the deck. The digital video & photo lab is on the upper level also near the crew's quarters.

Dive lockers, tank racks, low gunwales & retractable ladders all help assure everyone's carefree diving. The Kona Aggressor II was the first live-aboard to receive a Five Star rating by the Handicapped Scuba Association, a point of pride in Hawaii diving circles. The Fiji Aggressor is also a barrier-free live-board.
